Who we are
About Pixieandpop
A family magazine for people who’d rather play than plan.
Why this site exists
A lot of family content makes parents feel behind. The craft looks flawless, the party has a balloon arch, the lunchbox is shaped like a panda. Pixieandpop starts from how family life actually goes: busy, a bit chaotic, and full of small moments that matter more than the big productions.
Our central idea is simple. Family life doesn’t have to be perfectly organized to be memorable.
Who we write for
Parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, party planners and anyone standing in a store trying to pick a gift for a seven-year-old. Most of our readers live in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, and we have a soft spot for families on South Carolina’s Grand Strand, from Myrtle Beach to Conway.
What we cover
- Kids Activities: quick, cheap ideas for rainy days, school breaks and ordinary afternoons
- Family Fun: outings, routines, travel with kids and the odd parents’ night out
- Gift Guides: kids gift ideas by age, budget and occasion
- Birthdays: birthday ideas that scale down to a small budget and a small house
- Parties: party plans for kids and the adults hosting them
- Crafts: kids crafts with everyday supplies and honest mess ratings
All of it lives on our blog, Little Moments.
How we write and check articles
Every idea is run through the same questions before it goes up. Is it fun? Is it right for the age? How long does setup take, and what does it cost? Does it need special supplies? Can siblings join in? If an idea fails one of those, we either fix it or tell you plainly.
We don’t fabricate product reviews or claim to have tested things we haven’t. When we touch on safety, we stick to general guidance and link to an authoritative source; we don’t give medical advice. We won’t use children as clickbait, and we encourage readers to think twice before sharing their own kids’ names, schools or photos online.
Facts, prices and opening details are checked against the original source when we write them. If we get something wrong, tell us through the contact page and we’ll correct it and note the change.
Ads and independence
We carry display advertising and may publish sponsored content, which is always labeled. Advertisers don’t decide what we write or recommend. The details are in our disclaimer.
